Established in 1988, NexusBC Community Resource Centre is a community-based, non-profit and charitable organization. We offer programs, projects and services that serve and support seniors, vulnerable adults, job seekers, newcomers to Canada, and volunteers.
Our mission is to connect people with resources that support a healthy community, and we strive to be the premiere resource organization for those we serve.
Home and community care facilities provide a range of health care and support services for eligible residents who have acute, chronic, palliative or rehabilitative health care needs. These services are designed to complement and supplement, but not replace the efforts of individuals to care for themselves with the assistance of family, friends and community.
The range of services includes home based services such as assessment and case management, nursing, rehabilitation, home support and palliative care.
Referral to adult day programs are through your local Home and Community Care office.
Together with people with lived experience, we mobilize a broad community of care and support research into the disease to ensure people affected by dementia are not alone.
The Seniors Outreach Program is provided by the North Okanagan Friendship Center Society to elders age 60+ for culturally appropriate social recreation and food securities.
The Halina Centre offers programs and themed events for Vernon and surrounding areas, residents aged 50 and over, as well as their guests. We invite you to drop in to check out our wide range of social, educational and recreational programs. We’re a registered charity (formerly known as the Vernon Senior Citizens Recreational Society), with a convenient location behind in the Vernon Recreational Complex.
Run primarily by volunteers, the Schubert Society Centre provides social and recreational activities and programs to help seniors and people throughout the community maintain a good quality life.
